The subject of my research is Graphic Adventure Game genre. What I intent to do is a game concept that will rebirth the forsaken genre. I will look through the history of the genre to define its positive and negative aspects and use information to provide industry with a new game mechanic. Back in the past Graphic Adventure Games was a popular and innovative genre which was the face of all new technologies. It was the first genre to use mouse as the controller and audio dialogues and live action elements. There are dozens of innovation that brought this genre in the past but at the beginning of the century the genre stopped its evolution unwilling to modernize its elements to the new standards. The Graphic Adventure Game don’t mean innovation any more. Some of its best elements were imported in other game genres and blossomed there but the genre itself has stacked in its self-repetition. In the last years the industry is trying to rebirth the genre. Some of the Graphic Adventure Games evolved in so called interactive movie games. Others simplified the game elements and gain some success on the mobile devices. I think that there is still a possibility of bringing the genre at the old high level by implementing some of the new technologies in interacting, visual and gameplay aspects.
